Valhalla Apps Ltd was founded in March 2025 by 'Chris'
Chris, is a British Army Veteran with 17 years experience having served all over the world including combat operations in Bosnia, Kosovo, Iraq, Africa, and Afghnanistan.
After retiring from active service in 2014, Chris continued to serve his country and communities as a Police Officer, Firefighter and Paramedic.
However, a combination of factors including his own mental health struggle with PTSD and his wife becoming unexpectadly and seriously ill, Chris took the difficult decision to step away from uniformed service and found himself caring for his loved ones at home. This change in pace and work led Chris to contemplate what he could do next.
Therefore, Chris decided to start looking in to mobile app development as a hobby. Unfortunatly, Chris had no experience in this field and whilst computer literate and able to use a computer confidently with a more than basic background in telecommunications from his time in the Army, he had no knowledge or understanding of coding languages or app development.
Undeterred, Chris took to the internet for advice and found himself exploring his questions through use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a result, Chris discovered that if he partnered with an AI he could plan and develop an app to his needs and requirements and use AI to assist with the language of coding. And so, what started as a hobby led to the creation of 'VALHALLA APPS'.
Valhalla Apps was founded in March 2025 and has a single employee working from a home computer. However, with several projects in the works, what started as imagination will soon become innovation!
The flagship app for Valhalla is 'Boundaries The Dating Game'. Originally a bit of fun to help Chris learn the ins and outs of coding and app development, it quickly became an obsession and whilst other more important apps were being developed in the background, 'Boundaries' took the lead as the first app.
Originally, the game was designed as part of a university project set by a psychology class as part of a course that Chris was doing whilst serving in the Military. Chris designed the game as a way to better understand personal relationships within diverse cultures and belief structures. Furthermore, the idea was that using the outcome, Chris could gather statistics on certain parameters such as age, gender etc and identify patterns and develop a better understanding of social norms.
However, Chris was surprised at the experiment's outcome and his discoveries during the experiment led him to realise that his pre-held ideas and presumptive stereotypes were wildly inaccurate!
Over the years, the game continued to develop as Chris explored it with other like-minded individuals and found it was often useful in learning more about potential dates. Having used dating websites in the past, Chris found them quite monotonous and dull and always disliked the constant small talk with back and forth. Often, when trying to learn about the other person, some would misrepresent themselves which would occasionally lead to heart ache and a lingering distrust of people and the system as a whole.
Yet, by using his 'game' he could bypass certain social awkrardness and barriers and ascertain if he had anything in common with them or even if they were compatible. And so, 'Boundaries the Dating Game' came to be and was essentially 'Beta tested' for several years before Chis finally sat down and decided to develop it into an app for others to enjoy!
